Never hit your dog

This weeks Tip of the week is a very simple one : Don't hit your dog no matter what happens !
Train your dog, teach your dog, work with your dog, exercise your dog, play with your dog, but please don't hit or kick your dog. If you have to hit your dog you don't know how to train him. Don, let anybody not even a Dog trainer tell you to the way to punish your dog is to hit him. Hitting your dog is like lying to your child or to your parents. If you get frustrated and you don't know what to do, please call me, I be glad to help you and save you from making a bad mistake. Count to 3 if you are mad and than call me.

Doris + Killer

This weeks dog of the week is Doris with Killer,
Doris is a 78 year young lady and Killer is a 7 month Great Dane and some Hound mix breed.
He is full of live and energy. Doris a a very sweet soft spoken lady who did everything a ask her to do and did it with endless patients. Even when it was hot and her dog acted up she never lost control or got frustrated, or at least she did not let me see it. Her daughter drove her to me and told me on her first class not to go easy on her mom, she said she is a tough women. She was right. With her determination and patients she made Killer a better dog who now listens to her. Way to go DORIS. Keep on practicing. I am proud of you.

SARAH + MAUD

This weeks Dog of the Week is Sarah with Maud.
Maud is a 10 month australian Shepherd who is very ornery. When Sarah first came to me, Maud was a typical Aussie Shepherd. She had a lot of spunk, did not listen, wanted to do things her way and totally ignored her owner Sarah.
But to Sarah's credit, she did not give up, kept her calm, was determine and did exactly what I asked her to do.
Now a few month  and a couple of training sessions later, Maud is turning into a little lady. Oh yes she is still fisty , and has not lost her spunk, but she learned to behave and not get out of line. Sarah has her under control and Maud is doing what Sarah wants her to do. Both deserve a lot of credit. A lot of people would have give up, but you 2 did not and you are on a super way to be a great family and that's why you are this weeks dog of the week.
On a sad not: Sarah and her husband are moving to New Jersey to start a new career. We all will miss you, but we wish you Good luck.

My Group - Class

This weeks DOGS of the Week is my complete Group - Class.
These Dog-Lovers are unbelievable. They show up for training classes no matter what the weather or how they feel. Some times we walk through heavy rain and other times it is very, very cold, but this does not discourage any of them.
One of the ladies, Nicole is pregnant and has 2 big dogs and she comes and is in a good mood and smiling and ready for whatever we do. Sarah and her Aussi are here no mater what and ready for action. And than Debbie and her Beagle Fam. always game and good for a laugh. She showed up even after hurting her leg and walking with a limp all through class.  Cindy and Merlin, always in a good mood and ready for the task.
This is true and I mean true dedication. That's the reason your dogs are doing so well and that,s why you " ALL " are this weeks dogs of the week. I am proud of all of you!!

Debbie + Molly

This weeks DOG OF THE WEEK is Debbie with Molly. Molly is a very petite 13 inch Beagle. Not only is she very sweet and all of the other dogs adore her, she is also a superb Agility hound. Anyone who is watching her looks on with astonishment in how she scales over even the biggest of obstacles. Molly even clears the 9 foot A-frame and the very tough Barrel-jump. She and Debbie have a rare relationship with each other and it is great to see how they communicate.
Debbie you and Molly are "super" and I love to work with both of you. Congratulation to the both of you.

KAROL =DINGO

This weeks DOG OF THE WEEK is Karol with Dingo.
Dingo is a 3 year old blue heeler who started  personal Protection Training.
When Dingo first started he was a typical heeler who would nip a lot. Now after a few weeks of training I can say that Dingo made it over the hump. Last Saturday he started to bite the sleeve. And what a bite it was. He gave it his all and made Karol and me proud. It was not only the bite, but it was his attitude. Dingo is a great dog who has heart and is also great with people and that's why he is this weeks dog of the week. Congratulation to both.

Bill + Zeus

This week internet DOG OF THE WEEK is Bill with Zeus!

Zeus is a 3 year old Pit-Bull, who is one of the best if not the best Pit-Bull I have ever trained.
He is a dog, who makes you proud not only to own him, but also to train him. Bill calls him
the " Cadillac " and I have to agree. Everything we teach him he learns with ease and his
willingness to work is superb. If you watch Bill and Zeus, you see a " Team "
At the moment we are training him in Search + Rescue and if you drive around Lawton and you see
a Man and his Pit-Bull running through a field and you see  another man [ me ] laying somewhere in a ditch
that is Bill + Zeus.
Why am I writing all of this today? Zeus is sick ! He has the dog form of Lyme Disease, what is very serious.
We are hoping and I wish all of you are praying for Zeus to overcome this and get well and to get back what he loves to do best, to work with Bill and search for me on Monday mornings.
" Zeus we are all pulling for you get healthy soon "
